The film was shot in the heart of Kabul, revealing an unknown facet of the Afghan capital. The main location for the shooting was an abandoned theatre, which used to be Afghanistan's most beautiful cinema and miraculously survived 30 years of fighting. The venue was refurbished during the production with the aim to become once again a cultural hotspot... but things didn't go according to plan.
